Food Waste

Reframe Perspective on Waste

April is dedicated to food waste so this week’s focus will be on reducing one’s waste at home.

I recently came across the book A Pocket Guid to Sustainable Food Shopping by Kate Bratskeir. The book’s chapter on cutting back on waste provided this week’s motivational quote.

I personally love the opportunities when I see some of the remaining ingredients/produce in my fridge by the end of the week. One because it shows that my family did a good job of not wasting. But most importantly it allows me a chance to get creative with the remaining ingredients to create a family meal.

What’s your thoughts on this quote?

P.S. – While looking up info about Kate Bratskeir I came across a good read on some recent greenwashing tactics by General Mills.
