Life, Low-waste Living

When life messes with your low waste actions

I want to apologize for not posting these past couple of days.  If you follow me on Instagram you know that my maternal grandfather transitioned to heaven.  Needless to say I’m not my normal self nor have I been doing my typical routines.  Especially when it comes performing my normal low waste actions.

I haven’t really felt like cooking so take-out has happened way more than usual.  And with take-out we have gotten items I typically remind the people we don’t need – like napkins and plastic utensils.  On the flip side we are eating everything so food isn’t being wasted.

I try not to purchase clothing from fast-fashion retailers to prevent more textile waste in our landfills.  But with work and the immediate need for clothing items, I have ventured along the fast-fashion hub blocks from my home.  I only hope that the purchases aren’t a one and done.

I can honestly say that I was starting to feel bad about not making my normal low-waste actions; about adding to waste entering our landfills….BUT then I remembered that there isn’t any perfection when it comes to a low-waste lifestyle.  All I can do is try my best and soon bounce back to my usual ways – because life happens.
