Maranda’s Weekly Ramblings

I’ve always been one to start my ‘new year’ focuses before the new year starts – so why not start the requested weekly highlights post on the last Sunday of 2019.  The plan is that every Sunday I will provide a blog post that will provide a mixture of concepts that I feel will be beneficial for its readers (and based on what folks voted on in a recent Instagram poll).

Best Nine of 2019

I couldn’t resist seeing what my best nine instagram posts were for 2019.  As you can see, the majority of the nine were related to my journey on becoming a low-waste and plastic-free household.  It is hard to believe that so much has happened in our first year of the journey and I’m so grateful for all the blessings that have occurred.

Earth Focused Goals

As you know earlier in the week, I shared how I started reflecting on 2019.  I don’t really do resolutions for I feel they leave you confined to a box.  Instead, I think of what I want more and less of for the new year, which then develop into main goals I want to achieve over the course of the year. I have already begun mapping out goals specifically focused on protecting and advocating for Mother Earth.  I challenge you to take time this week to reflect and map out your own Earth Focused goals.  You can share your goals on my Instagram post, and possibly win the free journal I’m giving away.

Tip of the Week – Get Involved in a Community

Are you involved in a community of other folks trying to reduce their plastic usage or taking a low-waste living approach?  I believe that one of the reasons for my success this past year is because of the encouragement and support of others both locally and online. My tip of the week is for you to get involved in a community of like-minded individuals.  You will note only enhance your knowledge on concepts, but you will also be able to take collective action in making a difference.  I recently learnt that Polly Barks has developed a Zero Waste/Sustainability Partner map. Go add your name to the map, and try to connect with others in your area.

Welp that is enough ramblings for the week!
