Today’s motivational quote comes from a famous Louisvillian – Muhammad Ali. The feature picture is of a mural I saw in Brooklyn.
One of the main reasons people don’t reach their goal is because they don’t want to deal with the suffering that might be associated. For example, there were a lot of long restless weeks when I worked on earning my second masters while also working full-time and being a mother full-time. Many of times I wanted to throw in the towel, but I needed the degree to earn more income and to start my doctorate. (Note I had a support system which was beneficial). The biggest reward was showing my daughters the importance of higher education and proof that if I can get one so can they. As I type this up I realize how this is personally directed at me as it relates to my paper revisions.
Think about your current goal. Are you willing to suffer through the obstacles and hard tasks to reach its reward(s)?
