Well I made it through the first day of classes with ease BUT I already have a nice amount of tasks/assignments to be completed. Besides my coursework, I have research projects, fellowship applications, conference presentations/proposals, and prepping for my spring course assignment (I’m teaching solo again)… can we say OMG this semester is going to be stressful. I will say that I will truly have to be organized and NOT procrastinate.
So the words of wisdom is based on this statement I saw a few weeks ago:
I reminds me that I can never settle in all aspects of my life. For example, I did my first long run for my half marathon training this morning — 5 miles which I have not done for about two months. This entire summer I mainly focused on 3 miles so lets just say it was hard to keep at it once I passed 3 miles but I did it. I kept telling myself that it had to be done so that I would be ready for the half-miler and so I adhere to my regimen. Let’s just say I was VERY grateful that I can run at a steady pace on the long runs 🙂
Knowing my load will be intense this semester — the quote also encourages me to change my study habits, organization, and time management to ensure that all tasks get accomplished. I can not settle with what I did in the spring.. yes I got good grades BUT I want to not be stressed out and I want to get all A’s this semester.
So the question becomes do we just accept our ways or do we try to improve them?
