FYI – Family Fun Events for this weekend

Here are some Thrifty events you and your family might want to check out this weekend:

10th

• Watch Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom for FREE at Triangle Park.  The movie begins at dusk with lawn games and music pre-show.

11th

• Super Saturday KET from 9 am – 2pm at the KET Network Center.  Come have out with Cat in the Hat and MR. Steve.  The event is FREE but you need to preregister for prizes. Read and register here.
• Lifeway Stores are hosting Veggie Tales Fun Day for kids.  This FREE event will allow you to preview their new movie, “The Penniless Princess” in addition to crafts and refreshments.  The event goes from 11 am to 1 pm.  Check with your local Lifeway to confirm.
• Raven Run Little Explorers Nature Walk. A short nature hike and art project. 1 p.m. Ages 3-7. FREE but registration required. Get more information by calling 859-272-6105.
• Back to School Scavenger Hunt at the Richmond Road Kroger Store 11am – 4pm.   Characters (Spongebob, Oscar the Grouch, UK Wildcat, and more) Freebies, and more!

12th

• Tomato Festival at UK Arboretum from 2 – 4 pm.  Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for 12-under.  There will be tasting and various tomato activities for everyone in the family (paint with tomato, learn gardening tips, watch chefs in action).  Read all about it here.
